This is Merlin - a smaller kind of falcon. He had seen the small siskins and decided to help himself to one but had no luck. So he waited - Time enough for me to get the camera and get a few shots.

He presents a curious expression as he studies the photographer. Good one, Raj.

Raj, think it's searching for a 'flying victim' because mice don't visit your feeder, lol.
Very good one, my friend.

You were lucky to get this one Raj, and you did a nice job. I had a hawk swoop out of the sky one time here at the feeder, and actually knocked into the screen door trying to catch one of the birds, I don't think he pulled it off though. tigs=^..^=

Oh very well done on capturing this precious bop Raj! This small bird is still a popular choice in falconry. Btw I bet he got his lunch eventually. (o:

We do see the hawks swooping though our little courtyard after the sparrows but they are not successful as there is plenty of cover around here for the sparrows to hide. Excellent capture Raj - I'm glad he waited for you.

What a great capture Raj. He heard about your studio and flew in for a photo session, a spot of tea and a Shishkabob Siskin.
Good one.

Great shot. Like the blurred background. Did he manage to have Siskin-kabob for lunch?
