I go to the zoo about twice a week, with or without grandkids and I've gotten to 'know' Judy quite well. While I don't believe she enjoys my visits, I enjoy watching her. On this day, she was especially pensive and I would have liked knowing what was on her mind. It appears she was bored with me that day :)) I converted this to B&W because Judy's red scars were a bit distracting and I hoped to eliminate some of the flare from shooting through plexiglass. Jane Goodall helped design the chimp area but it's tough on photographers! Thanks in advance for viewing or commenting. - Patty

Looks like the gears are spinning in her head! LOL What a great expression on her face! You did an excellent job of capturing it & this turned out great for being shot through plexiglass! Now clone in a banana for her! ;-)

This is wonderful, those eyes staring right at us. Very well done Patty, you have caught her expression and I too would love to know what she is thinking.

Kinda wistful and sad. { I actually hate zoos}....though I know some are better for the animals than others.
A sweet and touching shot!

Her eyes are very pensive and somewhat sad I think Patty. Excellent closeup all the way around and she didn't seem to mind you getting that close ;) Glad to know someone esle enjoys zoo outings as much as I do. Excellent post and so glad you shared Judy. Thanks.

She's smiling for your Patty ... what a beautiful portrait of Judy. I love how you did it in B/W & the framing is perfect. If I lived near a zoo ... I would be there every day & especially watching the likes of Judy ... she looks so friendly. Very nicely done.

Just a wonderful capture of that face Patty. B&W works perfectly for this shot scars or no scars, and the border you put on this is very complimentary to the image itself. Quite a friend you have there ... I'm making a mental note never to be too severe with any criticisms of your postings. I have enough to worry about with Pat and her shotgun ... Terri and her gator pals and now you have a friend who could snap me in two. Caedes is becoming quite the hazardous place to be.

Despite the window, which I wouldn't have detected anyway, the shot is terrific, especially the b/w version. What a pose and a great closeup you got of her even though she was disinterested. The framing is simple and elegant, just a tad of color and really sets off her image well. Wonderful composition, Patty.

Dear Patty, I love it in B&W. Somehow, pictures of gorilla always sadden me, they look poignant and have such complex expression on their faces and the eyes often look sad. You have done a great capture here. :)
