This one's for philcUK. While I have stated that I quite admire the exotic lines of a handful of British cars ..there's something to be said for a big block V8 with a supercharger from this side of the pond. Economical? ..na. Photographically it was an interesting study shot for reflectance and shades of gray. Unretouched but for cropping. Best viewed full size.

Superb. Great composition and light. Standout details. GM should hire you right now!

Oh, my! That's one hell of an image. It exudes strength and power with all the steel and mechanisms. I've never actually seen an engine this clean. Full-sized this is really impressive.

thanks very much Rob :-) i'm a big fan of V8's as well and, were it not for the fact that gas cost $8 a gallon here at the moment, i'd probably be considering buying a nice new imported Mustang GT!

thanks one again - Phil

Interestingly, a modern V-8 turns out about twice the HP for the same fuel than an equivalent sized engine did back in the heyday of the muscle car, late 60's, early 70's. It's just amazing - and fun to drive! Nah, I won't tell you about my pickup!!! :) Great shot, Rob. I love the diversity of your presentations. 10.

As an owner of a Lincoln Mark VIII Collector's Edition, I am a big fan of the all aluminum, 32 valve, Intech V-8. The base engine emerged in the '93 Mark VIII, then moved on to other Ford applications such as the Mustang Cobras of the late '90s and early 00's. I can't be sure what this supercharged example fits, but the Lighting P/U used a similar Roots blower. Obviously, this is a display motor with a clear valve cover.

Very nice photo. Good contrast and lighting.

Based on placement of the throttlebody I gaurantee its not from an 03/04 Cobra, or an SVT Lightning. It's either a modular Ford motor used by a third party (such as ProtoMotors or any other supercar manufacturer that loves the use of Fords mod motors) or its a Ford GT engine with a difference set of valve/cam covers.
