Photo 1 in a series. In February, when the lakes are still encrusted with deep ice, the water flowing beneath breaking through at the falls seems all the more angry from it's keeping. Watch your step. ◊click◊

Wow! I love this image. The detail in the ice is fantastic. And best of all... no blue snow or ice. Good job Rob. 10+

Annie and I invite you to visit our website. Photography is not a trade - it is an art. It is more that an art. It is a solar phenomenon, where the artist collaborates with the sun. deLamartine 1855

I like the tumbling water effect and the fact you didn't try slow shutter speed. It would have detracted from the detail needed to bring this shot off so well. Kudos, Rob.

Wow. I love every bit of nature's power and energy you've captured in this shot. Composed very well with the ice/snow formations and direction of the water. winter slideshow on my HD. Moving all folders -------------> ;)

Hey Rob,
Been there, but only in the summer, great shot of the power of water. I have a few Bracebridge area shots posted as well. On your way home one day check out High Falls, another great photo place. You must have a cottage near by.....John

Hey John(jmar), thanks for your comments on this pic. I know High Falls well and have a number of winter shots of it buried deep in the can. It too is a powerful falls, quite different from the falls in Bracebridge but equally powerful to the eye and ears. You'll have to take a day-trip up to Bracebridge at the peak of the spring run-off. It's a awesome sight. Cheers. Rob

I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings: And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill. That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes. We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not. Yet so the universe was wrought . Thought is another name for fate. Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.

THis is quite something. BUt its too bad you didnt have something of "normal" size, so a person know this is truly a water fall, as is, it appears like "just snow or ice"....but that still means its good..

And another one that I missed. This makes for a nice bright clean desktop upon which icons can be readily seen. I like the ice and it's subtle colors and texture. The dark area at the top right helps frame the compsoition. Good capture.
