Incredible detail here Rob. I love the splash of sun across the mountain. I like the cloud cover. It really lets me know that how high this really is :) I also like the darker colors that are found in this image. It isn't so bright that the snow is whited out. May I ask what mountain range (or mountain) this is? Thanks for the great post. Right into my favorites folder on my harddrive.
Hi Rob. You have captured this giant in a way that the viewer can feel its glory in milliseconds. Glad I came across this image since it has unusual but very good brightness and contrast together with nice wite balance. Well done.
This is such a dramatic photo..the only thing missing is for us to know where this is...can ya tell us? I love how the sun is on parts of the mountain and shade on another....very nice work Rob
This is one majestic mountain, that's for sure! Wherever it is I'm sure it's been referred to as "God's Country" by more than a few people. Excellent job!!..=)
Spectacular view, the snow covered mountains touching the billowing clouds and the overview here is breathtaking. What a wonderful shot you have captured.
That bit of sunlight hitting the side of the mountain really adds something...that and the colors of the sky all give it a beauty touching on the spiritual...great shot.:Pat.
This one has to be my favorite. I'm facinated by the geology here. The snow highlighting the striations of the rock lifted over millions of years and the clouds adding their dramatic shadows make it my top rated image for the day.
Great Shot RobNevin
I think "tadurham" has it right. It looks like the east side of mount Rundle. The east side face's Highway #1 as you are heading west. The West side is basically one long slop that goes from the tip to the base at about a 45 degree slop. I camped out and hunted in the Alberta mountains for about 20 years. To this day, I am still awed and homesick whenever I see them.
There isn't much I add that hasn't already been said. I have not see such exsquisite detail, clarity and purity of color in the smae photo in a long time. Are you a professional photographer? If not, you ought to be. Fantastic. What camera are you using?
Pat
I just found this fabulous capture that you presented some time ago and wanted to tell you it's amazing and so very well done. Thanks for having it out here for us. Anita
