"Vadstena Castle was built by King Gustav Vasa in 1545 as a fortress to protect Stockholm from enemies from the south. The fortress consisted of three smaller stone buildings facing the lake, Vättern, three 31 meter wide ramparts, a courtyard, a moat and four circular cannons turrets." Wonderful lighting & I'm enjoying the textures of the stone buildings. Perfect angle & the blue sky sets off the curved domes nicely. A fantastic contest entry Susanne ... best of luck.

Wonderful repetitive curves in the two round buildings and their windows. More than that, a fine comp and very interesting historical architecture.

Great image Susanne. I love the angle you chose and the shapes in the castle. I think those curves will do you well for the contest. Good luck. It could be the oldest curve posted.

My, that's unusual architecture and I like it so well. Those round buildings are great and the peaks seem to be of copper. Such a wonderful post you have given us.
