Very nice Samatar. The fog is very neat. I think it would look neat if the fog was bulging slightly inside the crater with some flowing over and down the slope. Maybe flowing over on the right where you have got the great shadows. Excellent as the voter would say.
Thankyou so much everyone! I have never had so many comments so quickly... in answer to the queries/comments:
Mary, I don't mind at all, as long as it's a good story! And when it get's published, I expect a dedication :-)
Mayne, I wouldn't have a clue how to do that! Maybe you could tell me how, but keep in mind that this was created with Terragen, I don't have Photoshop or Bryce (yet).
Tony: See above.
Once again thanks for the encouragement, I hope to get alot better as time goes on...

Matthew: First, the obvious; make sure you have the detail bar all the way up, and set the image size to maximum (1152x864 in the trial version). The only other thing I can suggest is to make sure the lighitng isn't too bright, as that tends to make surfaces look flat and pixelated (Have a look at my image "Mount Pleasant" for an example of this). Obviously the fog helps in this regard also. Thanks for the feedback, also thanks to Nicky and Sharon for your kind words.
I would love to make this my backround! Just one problem. My 2nd monitor's color is shot, and just ruins the pic. I am stuck using the darker pics, so that i dont notice my monitors problems.. (actually, this is my backround at this point, but i will have to change it. the colors just are not there on my other monitor.)
Great work!
I tried doing stuff like this before, and failed miserably. (using Bryce i think. Some landscape program)
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay. <Robert Frost> "Nothing Gold Can Stay"
otaku dude your xfile icon and your CAPS and your drunk way of talking sucks... makes the whole caedes.net dirty and ugly looking... try to keep it cleaner... i know youre a 14 year old kid but you strive to seem older... then take my advice...

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is a society, where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar,
I love not man less, but Nature more
--Lord Byron
This has always been my favourite and returns to my desktop now and again as my wallpaper changer sees fit. Any chance of a larger resolution some day?
The title of this pic-what you said in your commentary would have been a more applicable title: "Something In There". I love the colors-very soothing and relaxing.
