I see scissors, or those little claw thingies you use to pick corn on the cob out of a pot of boiling water, or pliers or something along those lines. Something that has the shape that all 3 of those things have in common with each other.

Thanks... mum the background is made up entirely of q-tips (or cottone buds as we call them). There is another everyday object that has been used in the foreground. So far calebs guess (bubbles) is closest but you might have to think laterally...

soap!!! the lines things are soap streaks, is this right and by the way, i found another household item, A computer, lol, u definately used a computer here

or the bubble film, maybe you took a picture through one of those bubble circle things that you blow bubbles with

Csheridan: It's not soap, or bubbles of any kind, but you are on the right track. Delusionist I don't know what wreynolds wrap is, but it sounds like you are also very close...

are the qtips inside of clear plastic wrap? or a clear baggie?

Bingo! It is clingwrap/gladwrap/saranwrap depending where you are from... I photographed the q-tips and Mary scanned the wrap and added it afterward to give an underwater type feel.

I wanna also guess maybe they're inside of a glass bowl, but i'm not sure if glass would give off that same effect.

Sam, I can see the gladwrap & cotton buds, but what are those circular spheres???

I think they might be reflections mum.
Also I still stand by my guess of seeing scissors, or something along the lines of scissors lol If you look to the very left of the fractal design, behind the qtips, something that expands from the top of the image to the bottom, and leaning towards the right side of the page is in there, and it looks like scissors to me. I wanna know that I'm not crazy, please tell me someone else sees this.

I can assure you the background is made up entirely of cotton buds. I did apply a filter or two so that might have distorted the shapes in some areas. Mum, I think the circles you refer to are probably from lens flares which I used to create the light filtering through from the back.

An excellent entry - very well done.

i like how the q-tips work in the background, it does remind me of a coral reef, but the real stroke of genius is the plastic wrap in the foreground, i think that's what sets this image off the most. the fractal isn't integrated well though and looks like a piece of psychedelic lint
