I just had to have a go at making the wall stand out in this shot by Andfre. I really liked the composition of the original shot but felt the lighting let the shot down a bit; hopefully you'll agree that this is an improvement. Full credit for the photo goes of course to Andfre.

More images and prints available in my Deviant art and Redbubble galleries.

The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was, is lost, for none now live who remember it. -Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring

This is a good piece of reworking. I like the colours. The original shot and composition were of course interesting already.

was this levels mastery ... or plugin, like shadow illuminator? .. my grasp of levels and curves consists of selecting auto levels

Nice job either way .. I'm easy .. really made a difference

You've done a fine rework on a special find. I'm glad to see it in it's full glory. The stonework really pops out with texture now and the clouds and shadows are well defined. Well done both of you!

What a good idea,smart thinking!
The light on the wall should have had a bit more contrast to fit the light in that landscape. The borders of the wall could be improved. If you have this image in two seperate layers and you selected the outer regions of the layer with the wall by applying a magic wand tool with a feather of may 10 pix, then you could (by pressing delete) fade the outline of that wall a bit better.
That's what came to my mind when I saw this. Please don't see it as critics, I just want to offer my advice!

If you can't find the words, you may as well shoot it...

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink. . . . drink in the moments that take your breath away. . . . .

What I love more than the wall itself is its background. I think the clouds and the rest of the sky really bring out the photo.
