Ohhhhhhhhhhh!!! what a beautiful photo!! How honored you must have felt to see that beauty and I imagine your camera was VERY nearby...this is absolutely fantastic..and you framed it perfectly....this is the cutest birdie, he even looks like he's smiling at you as though he is actually ready to pose!! bravo bravo my friend!!!
Okay Sam..you have captured my heart with this shot! :) I only get to see these beautiful birds when someone post them on the site. They are so wonderfully colorful and photogenic! Was this in the house you are rehabbing? great shot for doing the "thru the glass" thingy...:)
Love the framing too..it is not a bit distracting from the beauty of the bird :)
Oops, he flew right into my hard drive and is roosting in my fav's "~)
Whining "no fair!" All I get are Robins and blackbirds. ;( Got great color with this one and I thank you for that framing to the left and the nice non distracting dof. Hope the opportunity for the tail end presents itself again. ;)

Sam. I ran across this image while doing a little site surfing and wanted to let you know how much I like it and the memories it brings back.
It started about 8 years ago while my parents spent 2 years in your auspicious country working with their church.
My Mom passed last October and Dad gave me all of the pictures they had taken while there to scan and put on a disk for him, so he could remember a happier time. I came across a whole envelope of pictures with my Mom standing there with her arms outstretched and covered with these Lorikeets. Asking Dad about it he chuckled and told me that while they were there she became known as the "Bird Lady" to the whole neighborhood.
Just thought I’d share this with you as I let you know how good this image is. A 10 by me and in my favorites.
