After a fair bit of deliberation here is my first entry in the contest. Rules broken: Rule of thirds; Subject is centred; Subject is out of focus (ie birds face); Part of subject is cut off. That's probably enough I think? I still think this works quite well though because of the postition the bird is in; he looks like he is peering through the branches and the fact the he is out of focus but the branches are crisp sort of adds to the effect (I hope). As per the rules no changes made except to resize.

I have this happen all the time when I forget that the autofocus is on. Here it sort of worked out for you in that you're peeking at the parrot while he's peeking at you. Good entry

I agree, it's very cute the way he is peeking between the branches and despite the soft focus his beautiful colors are still easily seen and to be admired...once again, Good Luck in the contest.:Pat.

In this photo, I don't think it would have worked as well if the focus had been sharply on the bird. Colors are fantastic, the bird is playfully inviting.
