(Main) abstract
I finally remembered to check out Nathan's tutorial on how he made those oh-so-shiny jewel thingys that he is so renowned for... also checked out the style creating tut while I was at it. I think this is rather spiffy for my second attempt.

Hey there! It's way more than Spiffy even! It's wicked good!!! To me it looks like the full moon with breezes softly whispering by in a giant blue sky universe..Just absolutely lovely my friend!!! I have it as my desktop. Since I love Blue(BLoo) so much, I felt this is perfect! This is great work on your part.. sooooooooooo creative!!..........verena

This is marvellous. I really like the combination of colours. I'm especially fond of greens/blues/purples with blues being especially favoured. The blues here are wonderful. The patterning on the background looks like deep blue silk with embroidery in threads dyed to match. Platinum with blue is excellent. I've always liked silver and blue and this is similarly lovely but more distinctive. I'm especially glad to see something other than gold!
My main criticism would be of the jewel which doesn't look _quite_ right to me. Not quite 3D and I cannot figure out what the platinum bands are doing at this point. I think these may be the problem. They do not look as if they go through the jewel, but if not, the jewel must be pretty flat as they don't curve out or in enough to make space for a sphere.
Could well just be me, though! Otherwise, this is really excellent. Not exactly my favourite style, but I'm think I might have to convert... or at least diversify!

Very lovely. The colors and textures work so well together. I will be so happy to add this to my favorites, as well as add it to my desktop collection. (the colors work perfectly with the Winamp skin I use) So thankyou!
