From memory, this was one of the orchids from the "VIP" garden (Very Important Plants). This one I believe was named after Margaret Thatcher.

Fabulous, fabulous flowers! They look like they are sticking their tongues out at us! Margaret Thatcher? Hmmmmm. Can't wait to see who the other celebs represented might be.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

This is an exquisite photograph. The sharpness and colour saturation is spot on.

A most unusual and beautiful flower! Your comp seems a little top heavy, but just MHO. Color and DOF used really bring out the best in this orchid.

OK Sam - of all your orchids this is the one that I "vote" to stay on the island! It has elegance, short depth of field (creating restful areas for icons) and a sophisticated merlot colour scheme.
Nice.
It shall reside chez nous.
