I think I might have manipulated this a bit too heavily... what do you think?

Again this one was taken with my Sanyo Xacti video camera.

It does seem a bit over-done, more so towards the top of the statue. I like the perspective of the photo and the angles in the shot with the way things line up. Nicely presented scene.

Desaturate the dark blue a bit, and yer spot on pal...

The dark blue is taking the eye off the main feature which is the statue

Perfick angle for this shot too!...

The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Impressive quality from a vid cam.

And a good good shot. Nicely composed.

Caveats?

Well, I downloaded your image here and tried some adjustments me own self. And in doing so, it became more apparent that you made a selection of the sky and did some stuff to it. So..

If your aim was to approximate a GND/polarized look ... think you are not far off the mark.

Not sure what other or overall adjustments/manipulation you performed ... my only real caveat is with the loss of detail in and on and about Lady Liberty's face (shadows/shadowed areas). If.. you could brighten/lighten that area.. some ... think the pieces would fall together rather nicely. (Even without changing the colour saturation levels.)

And nit picking here, perhaps a slight counter clockwise rotation to level.

That said..

Took your photo up to the highest resolution size and quality is still impressive.

Viewed your other image taken with your vid cam, namely; "Brooklyn Bridge" and would ditto the comments here on this page for that one as well.

Both, are very nice shots. So..

Thanks for sharing these looks with us from your recent travels. :o)
