... to learn, that is. This is an edit of my previously uploaded image "Church of the good shepherd" which I took in New Zealand nearly two years ago now; at the time Les/Purmusic recommended I try editing it using a tutorial by philcUK; I guess I was too busy or didn't think it would make much difference as I haven't got around to it 'til now... I was still skeptical and even when I was finished I didn't think it had made much difference... until I compared this and the old version side by side. Now, the only problem is that I will have to go through all my old photos from the last decade and use this technique on them...

Oh and I straightened the horizon line as a certain poopy-panted person suggested as well.

Rustic and welcoming. Wonderful stonework. Fine shot of an old chapel. Background frames and compliments the building.

The poopy-panted person is really good at pointing things like horizons out... I usually think to myself, 'Ah! I knew that, I was just testing you' ;-) In this case the tutorial made an already lovely image even better.

Now, I expect to see a B & W version.

... ...

You know.. in about two years.

I like how the technique has brought out more details. In both; shadows and highlights.

And the assist on the colour front with respect to the sky.

If I may be bold..

As I do recall messing about with your original way back when. The chroma blue stuff in the back mountains.

Suggestion, or, some more creative food for thought:

Remove a Blue Haze

That said..

And the colours are more vibrant in this version, too.

Nice one, Sam.

Nice rework and a big difference in the two versions. A great looking scene.

Whoever poopy-panted was they gave good advice to correct the horizon -:)
I like the extra detail brought out in this new version.
Only gripe is the purple mountains.
I know this church very well and for me this version recaptures the sunrise atmosphere of the place very well.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Love the revision Sam with the exception of the blue mountains. They draw my eye away from thr beauty of the surroundings. Much improved and many thanks.
