I posted an image a while back entitled "Red Dirt Road" but I have removed it from my gallery only because this is the type of ROAD that I grew up on. Going to South Alabama for Thanksgiving was going home for me and has really stirred up some memories about my childhood and my Mother and Father who have gone on before me. That was the time of my life that I learned the most about living and enjoying what you have, no mater how small and run downed our house was or how big the world seemed to me. All I knew back then is that I was happy and that Red Dirt Road was my teacher. Everything that I had or knew revolved around that road.

Times have changed and the world has moved on....but that red dirt road remains the same and so do my memories. Living in South Alabama and being a country boy is something I will always be proud of because my Parents were always proud of me and that Dirt Road was always there like a friend waiting for me to come visit.

So hop in my truck and take a ride with me back in time down that red dirt road.

Excellent Opie. Black fertile earth is great for growing, but red clay is were the roots remain. Love the colors and the song. Outstanding post.

I love that Brooks and Dunn song. But then, I love all of them. LOL. Nice shot...it reminds me of Georgia red dirt a little.

What a wonderful road home and the best thing about it all is that it isn't paved! What beauty here. It's no wonder this takes you back, PAul. The grasses alone are quite a spectacle with their varied hues and textures. This image imparts a good feeling.
