This is located in Old Town Helena, Al. The buildings themselves have been here since the late 1800's. But they have had a face lift or two.

Can't help but think of the stories that these buildings could tell. Can almost here the shoes of townsmen that worked the mills walking the boardwalk and the bench longing for someone to sit a spell.

Now that's a place I could rest my butt and smoke a pipe! (If I did smoke!)..and maybe you could keep me supplied with a few 4 packs!...lol

A fine perspective with the lead-in of the porch!

I bet the people that sat on that bench through the years would have some dandy stories to tell, too. I love the angle and the colors of this, and the composition is brilliant. Excellent shot, Paul.

Isn't that my neighbor, Mr. Ziffel, that commented?

Paul - I like the angle of this shot, with the sun lighting the store facades under the overhang. Thad

This is my kind of wallpaper! I love insights into the past...and this nice old chair on the boardwalk fires up my imagination. I can see Grandpa there whittling on a stick, and little kids (perhaps waiting for Mama who is in the store) climbing on the chair and jumping down again.... Thanks!
