This beautiful chaffinch seemed to be thriving on a diet of biscuit crumbs, despite having stumps instead of claws on his right foot.

What a lovely shot! Nearly every day for a year I used to see a particular house sparrow with only one leg. He lived outside the district courthouse and seemed to be thriving on a diet of crumbs and leftovers from the outdoor lunch area. Sounds kind of sappy, but it pleased me to see that such a small creature can not only survive without a leg, but thrive. Your chaffinch is beautiful. Thanks for sharing this one.
Wow! I am impressed, not only with this shot, but the little's bird's desire to survive. We should have such courage! I would feed him in my feeder if he were here! In my fav's. Thank you!
this may be an old image, but i like to explore the caedes galleries from time to time :) and this one caught my eye, i could not resist it.. just the chaffinch's look can make me happy.. i love little birdies, they are simply beautiful. the shot is very detailed and the quality is on a very high level.. i dare to say this is a brilliant image :)
