It rained again this afternoon. I tried photographing flowers after it stopped, but none of them could match the effect of the shining droplets on this leaf. Macro setting, at f8 for maximum depth of field, from approx 6cm, using fill-in flash in moderate sunlight, under-exposed by 0.3 EV.

Amazing that there are so many colors in this leaf Simon. The red edge adds the perfect accent as does the yellow at the top! The water droplets remind me of diamonds. Excellent capture on this macro.....in my fav's on my HD & thank you :))

I must say that this is the best "after the rain" image that I have seen. excellent image. That water looks so good you'd want to lick the leaf just to see how it tastes! lol
wonderful shot.

Thanks Pierre :-) The only editing was a small adjustment to brightness and contrast, and a little USM, which I find benefits almost all digital pics.

Hello Simon...On the whole I think this is a tremendous piece of work...Any image that holds your attention is doing its job well and the detail in the waterdrops supported by the intricate patterns in the leaf makes for a picture with bags of impact....The only thing I 'd have done is crop a bit tighter...The black areas on the left and right of the frame is'nt doing much and the shot is all about the waterdrops on the leaf....Give it a try as I feel it will give the picture more impact...Bonus points from me...All the best...Mick.

Skillful. A wonderful balance of bright and dark. I especially like the light and dark within the droplets of water. There is this sensation of imminent movement in the droplets.
