I deliberately under-exposed this shot of a swan as he was so brightly sunlit. The background was deep shadows and came out practically black - a slight increase in contrast (and a touch of unsharp mask) is all that was needed for this rather striking portrait. Hayle millpond, 18th November '05.

This is a crackin' shot!....the bird looks as if it going to 'have you!' for pinching his 'bread!'

How beautiful this is! I love being able to get such a close look at this swans features...amazing, the colours..and I love the black background! It all came together so perfectly. I wonder if I would ever dar to do a canvas painting of this guy...Would love the challenge maybe LOL...but its a great shot for sure.
