Steve - The composition, with the large tree as the focus, is interesting, as it teases my eye to want to look beyond to the hoary frosted landscape. Using the large tree to shield the direct sunlight was a very good choice here. Thad

That sun does light up everything but it also has a nice effect of casting some nice shadows which adds to the image quite nicely! Great shot!
