For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, His eternal power and Godhead;... Rom 1:20
Fantastic shot...I'm curious as to the camera settings. I really like the effect the waves have, so I'm thinking a little bit longer of a shutter speed, maybe?
It's actually not as long of a shutter speed as I would've liked, but yeah, longer than it had to be because a ND filter was used to slow it down. It is also an HDR, 3 images combined. But the shutter speeds for the images were at 1 second , 1/2 second , and then 2 seconds. All 3 were shot at F/22 on a Rebel XTi and Canon EFS 10-22mm lens.
I think the semi-long shutter speed worked well with the HDR treatment...by itself a longer shutter speed would have looked great too, but I'm not sure how it would have worked with HDR too. I like it how it is...faved by the way!!
I love the Outer Banks, and you captured the spirit of the amazing area beautifully. In my mind I can see Cape Hatteras' light gently turning... Thanks for the memory!
the outer banks is one of my favorite areas on earth. i love to drive from duck down to hatteras, take the ferry to okracoke and keep on going. you've photographed this special place beautifully. where is it? have you visited the life saving station that's almost covered with sand.
Hi Justin..and once again, you amaze me with such a beautiful photo! The first one took my breath away, well, the first I saw of your gallery, and now this one I see. OHHHHH my!! I live near the Pacific Ocean and see sunsets like this often, but this one of yours has so much character! OH, I know how our Creator is the one to receive the credit for this beauty, but you, my friend, have the ability to capture this scene in the best way possible. The colour, the total way you have the beach, the water, the sunset, and that old broken down dock. Wow. It is magnificent! I wonder what kind of camera you have, because it certainly does this scene justice.
Thank you for sharing with us all, this awesome shot.Verena
