Agree with Marsha above on the note how you composed your photo here.. and with regards to your subject matter ... caught my eye in the New Images galleries.
Challenging lighting conditions.. and you handled the exposure pretty well.
Suggestion.. and coincidentally.. just made mention of this in-camera function the other day:
And I quote (from the sample images at the bottom of the article);
"The image on the left was the exposure that the camera calculated for this scene. The camera wanted to make sure the walls of the tunnel were exposed properly, but as result, the sculpture at the end of the tunnel in daylight is very bright (over-exposed). By dialing down the exposure compensation to about -1.0, I was able to force the camera to darken the exposure."
Alternative would be to find another time of day where the light is not as harsh. The morning 'golden hour', for example. Or.. late afternoon/setting sun.
Really a nice shot, Carol.
'Artistic' would be an apt descriptor in my book.
And..
But, of course.. thank you for sharing this one with us.
Hard to believe a nest box in a prime location like that is still on the open market. A perfect time for you to remodel the place. Nice composition of the scene and colour tones in the photo.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
Nice tones and composition.
