We are seeing more eagles all the time here. This one happened to be close to the road and didn't more so it made it easier to capture him. He was out in the corn stocks.
It is rare to get such shots of eagles. May be because of the winter weather conditions they are hungry and searching always for a "moving target". Nice capture and also that vignette brings it out well.
Carol, you were really lucky to see this eagle and get that shot - perhaps he's hunting as well as gathering nest materials - that's what the Decorah eagles are doing - first egg of the 2020 season is due very soon - Great Capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doesn't matter whether Raj or Kathy is right, you were lucky anyhow to find this eagle, Carol. Fine an well presented (because of the vignetting) capture!

Beautiful capture from a distance! What focal length did you use? The vignetting against the bright background actually gives a very nice artistic feel to this image. I'm assuming that wasn't add in during post processing? Worked beautifully for you. Love the treatment and the coloring as well!
This has actually been one of the more informative discussions - feel like I know a little something about eagles now! :)
