The typical bare bones one-room school house, tending to the educational needs of either a small rural community or township. When these structures were larger, at least twice the size, they serviced more than one area, and were called a **consolidated** school, and usually numbered. I am quite familiar with them but have to say, this is the first one-room I have seen with a steel pipe rail on the front door stoop. Someone put a little extra effort into the place.
