The problem is that it takes about 1,000 of these to generate as much power as the previous photo (Gigawatts). So many people are not too keen on having lots of them around. They also make quite a noise as well.

You got an interesting composition here. Instinct would make me want to have the windmill facing into the photo but it works fine this way too. I wonder if the fence is to keep people out or to keep animals in.
This is very beautiful and very still. I love the clearness of the day and the clarity of the colours made all the more strong by the stark contrast of the windmill. Lovely work

I love this,, the way you chose to shoot it sideways with the stunning view alongside is brilliant. I am always amazed that people oppose wind farms,, in my humble opinion they slot in nicely ( if placed in the right way) as this picture shows.
Megawatts: Thanks for the comment Jo. My other work is as a consultant to government and business on sustainability. So in theory I am keen on windmills. However the case is not always clear cut. They do make a noise if you live very close to them. They can look good, but they also "industrialise" the landscape in a way thet I do not always like. Finally they are not completely sustainable - they require minig of all sort of materials to make them and deliver the power - and here in Oz they are just left to rot at the end of their useful life. There is no agreement to remove them. Lots to consider.
