What a elegant and beautiful creation.I like that you have this placed just off center, it's very nice. I think this might look real nice as a vertical posting too. Thanx for something a bit different, not sure how you got this look, but it's very nice. Verena

that's just awesome... I actually don't like the fiberoptic flowers, but this image is simply beautiful... It's probably the dark background and the warm glow with little cluttering. Very haunting. :)

Well, I suppose that there are no coincidences in life ... as I had this image of yours bookmarked for some time and am now just reading your PM, Steve (more about that in a response via PM to you).

What had caught my eye intially, is that which is mentioned in the above commentaries ... the lovely luminance of the fiber optic flowers and then that of it's setting. The darker background.

Works well to create a wonderful mood and feel to your capture here.

Caveats?

None really, however you have stirred my imagination and thoughts ... for one, playing around with the DOF and getting closer might work.

Some fill flash and trying out some placements of real flowers nicely bokeh'd/blurred in the background to flesh this one out some more? Perhaps?

A companion piece, simply put.

And lastly, that of a portrait presentation for a final suggestion and creative food for thought for you.

If I were to single out a real 'caveat', in what is to follow ... would be a preference to up the sharpness and clarity some. Some, that is ... as there is good good detail present and no doubt, the challenge of capturing this lighting is a factor.

The simplicity and elegance of your image here makes it very visually appealing. The colour palette being most fitting and underscoring the aforementioned.

Nice shot.

And but of course, thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)
