This is a Red River Hog found in the Pretoria Zoological Gardens.
Thanks in advance for any comments.

I know that beauty is just relative Susan, so don't like to discuss about it. Not relative however is that these animals are very clever and social.
Good image of this Red River Hog.
Regards, Cornelius.
I strongly disagree with our dear Mr C commenting before me.
THIS IS A SHEER BEAUTY.
OK, I also cannot help but laughing at our EJ's comment.
The animal looks nice, mild and innocent which means a lot in this harsh modern world [in fact the world has always been the same - just think about them sweety faced Tyrannosaurus Rex .. LOL]
Is that a male or a female ?? No matter.......I've given it some hard thought and........male we shall call him Bartholomew, and if female we shall call her Miss Daisy. :) There.......having a name makes her/him seem much more personable. LOL What a wonderful creature Susan.
Always remember - Follow the Yellow Brick Road, it will lead you to OZ and the Emerald City. A very nice place to live. Trust me on this one, I live there. The Lion **** MY CAEDES GALLERY****Another Site I'm AT - MY DA HOME PAGE
Such an interesting animal. Looks like a Bartholomew to me, but what do I know of Red River Hogs until I check out your link. I find the most interesting thing about them is their unusual ears. Good shot, Susan.
I too thought they had devilish ears Susan. I think he would look better turning on a spit. Not that he doesn't look great in your photo. Think I will go get a snack.
Good post.
A good one Susan, I have never heard of these before.
