This was taken from a train window while on a tour through Cape Province in 2006. The "stuff" in the dam is Cape Pond Weed (Most commonly know as waterblommetjies in Afrikaans) and use to make Waterblommetjie-stew , a traditional South African Dish. (Cape Province - South Africa)

Susan, I like the sense of motion, and yet the scene above the tracks is so well focused. Beautifully captured, the mtns. really make a nice layered effect. Tigs♥ =^..^=

They look like our water lilies Susan. What a great view you shared from the train window.

Cameras are like people--sometimes they lose focus.

Susan, I didn't know that 'Aponogeton distachyos' (waterblommetjes in South African and waterbloemen in Dutch) are edible, lol.

Very interesting post not only because of the narrative but because of the splendid image as well. The mountains are a perfect backdrop for it.

Regards, Cornelius.
