I used to play with mirrored box effects for the same reason I now obsess on pond reflections - to see more than I saw with the camera. Haven't done them for a while, but a friend came across some of my old prints during the move last week and was so amused that he goaded me into making another. The sculpture is Elisabet Ney's Lady Macbeth.

Very interesting. Looks like you have wayy too much fun with mirrors. J/k. The shadow work is also nice. Not to sure about the frame. The wide area on the left sort of takes away from the main idea.

The wide area's just in deference to monitor dimensions. Haven't tried one as wallpaper before. I've always put the prints in square mats. The "frame" you referred to is the museum's door frame in the image or the ecru edge around the box? If it's the latter, it like the wide area, is expendable. Thanks very much for having a look, Adrienne.

I like the concept (and the subject), but like always I have a few suggestions.

First: I agree about the negative space, but perhaps for different reasons than Adrienne.

By placing the framed imaged to the right, you've actually compromised the off-centered position of the subject from the original photograph (notice that the sculpture is now nearly center in the final image).

Second: I think the mirror images work well excluding the one on the left side. I think that it betrays the illusion of a mirrored box since it's the front of the statue, not the back. Perhaps just shadow that wall as you did with the wall in the BG?

I don't really mind the border. I think it adds to the mirrored feeling; without it the image may be too ambiguous visually. In general, don't worry about having negative space for people to compromise with.

Just my thoughts. (as always, I've written another book lol)

Original and so very well done! I especially like how you handled the bottom and floor, and I don't mind the border. I do think that the mirrored image on the left should probably just be a shadow as was suggested by Bethany. I would love to see more of these, and definitely be interested in your work flow. Thank you for sharing your talents with us! =D Faved.
