The fence and path meandering from bottom right to top left is a Big Deal in this image. The diagonal as well as the implicit border between order and chaos that it forms is very Cool. In fact the subtle winding path is a good and necessary balance to the fence. The foreground post nails the image to the frame. The image tells a story. I like this a lot and your choice of black and white makes it all the more dramatic. Negative - I don't think the bottom frame device is necessary. In fact I think it detracts from the power of the image.

I agree with everything Regmar said except, I'm sorry, I don't see a negative here at all. I think this is a fantastic shot, both subtle & dramatic at once. I think color would've only detracted from the picture & taken the focus away from the image. Very well done, congratulations. I like this so well I'm putting it right in my favorites !!

This is my favorite of your recent B+W shots (which I also overlooked when they were uploaded... ARGH where have I been?!?) This one is the type of thing I would expect to see in a gallery. It has a lovely soft feel to it and the perspective is soooo perfect (of course this is only emphasised by your positioning of it in the frame which, once again, suits it perfectly). I would be proud to hang this on my walls...
