What an absolutely gorgeous capture here. The old tree in the foreground sets the tone for the coming of winter and the beautiful colors reflected in the water really do bring a hush to the soul. Marvelous job.

While composition-wise I love the placement of the tree off to the left, as I've just learned about the "golden mean" rule, it gets us off to a great start artistically, I love trees, and I'd really like to see a larger view of this unique and old beauty. I'm trying to figure out if that is a willow or not. From what's left of the leaves, it looks like it might be, and if it is, it has defintely positioned itself by the very element it craves and needs to enjoy the long life that's evidenced on its face. The colors are done nicely here and the clarity is excellent as well. I'd love to sit in the crook of that tree and watch the autumn hush her way into the colors along the background bank. Excellent post, and into my faves, and if you ever get a chance to take a larger view of that lovely tree....I'd be front and center to view it :)PJ
Excellent composition, Terry. The textures on that tree trunk are great and the foreground flowers and distant tree colors add variety of seasons to the shot. The sky and reflections are so clear too. Very lovely.
One Fine Day, indeed! One fine photo, as well! The old tree in the foreground and the reflections of the beautiful fall colors combine to make this a wonderful post. Thanks for sharing this lovely view.
Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they've got a second. Give your dreams all you've got and you'll be amazed at the energy that comes out of you.
What a stunning post Terry. That knarly tree trunk in the foreground and that serenity in the background is just awesome. All the way around perfection and a keeper for sure.
Can't always give individual thanks but I am so appreciative of everyone's comments and input. I truly enjoy seeing all of your posts and am always happy to see you at My Gallery. Thanks, Anita
Just saw this in VB. Looked it over and asked 'what could I have done better?' When the answer is nothing, I click the '10' button which I did. Beautiful work, great composition. Love the sky and reflection, too.
This is very nicely done Terry. I especially like the way you've used "Leading Lines" to take one to the main attraction, the path and best of all, the tree.
If you have a chance, go back and focus on that tree trunk and see if you can do it with strong side lighting. There are a lot of interesting shapes and textures there for the having.
I was about to log out ... and I see a most compelling image on the front page ... and I'm back to put a few words of appreciation down onto this image of yours.
Captivating. Great balance in the composition, echoing the above words. The subject itself, your star model as it were? ... I could look at that tree for some time ... add in the other elements of detail, clarity and visual interest for a perfect accompaniment ... really nice work.
Thanks for drawing me back in to enjoy another great image and thanks for sharing this scene. :o)
p.s. "Autumn is the hush before winter." Wonderful words.
Goodness, I thought I'd commented on this one but see that I didn't...
This is such a fine capture. Well composed, very clear, great color, and the tree on the left is very well placed. I like it's bark-less areas, all tan and lumpy, and the limb reaching out over the water just sets this scene off perfectly and point the eye in the right direction. Well-suited description too. Super work :)
Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand.
