As retired Maritimer, thought to see something different by reading your title, Tom, but like to say that graceful swans are much finer than the solid state vessels breaking the ice.

Swans are a hardy breed, Tom. Unexpectedly, I saw some in a pond nearby recently during some cold weather that had created partially frozen waterways. I like the foreground and background snow-covered ground that focuses the eye on the waterway and the swans.
I am surprised that the swans seem to be comfortable in such conditions. Here in Hamburg the swans from the lakes are taken to a "Winter home". Looks very cold but all the same beautiful.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
