I made this for the Repetitions contest, but decided it wasn't repetitious enough! There was a certain amount of tedium in making it, perhaps. Originally I used a Photoshop brush, and happily sprinkled Piner's killer arachnids everywhere, and they looked OK… but then I realized that, though the spiders themselves were skewed as though falling haphazardly, the checked pattern sported by the spiders was always just straight-on… it wasn't right.
Reluctantly I shifted to using Photoshop's 3D function, as that gave perspective to the pattern as well as to the spiders. After all, I bought this software to use! I might as well use it! (Yawn). Makes spider… makes spider…. makes spider….
