I think the use of sepia has enhanced this shot - It focuses attention on the horse and rider, rather than on what might be a more brightly coloured background.nice.
Nice image Josh. The sepia and the soft focus really bring out the horse and rider. the only thing I would change would be the framing. The picture looks a little cramped. There needs to be a little more of the frame above her head. Otherwise quite good.
Thanks everyone! I actually didn't use a sepia effect here because in my version of Paint Shop Pro the sepia effect and aged newspaper effect are exactly the same and neither one is very good in my opinion. Instead I used an orange tinted coloration combined with desaturation to achieve what I think of when I think of sepia. I'm glad you all liked it.
Andrew, I agree with you about the framing. Unfortunately I set out mentally to photograph the horse, not horse and rider so I actually had some heads cut off and plenty more that were stacked to the top like this. Some were framed better but this is still my favorite of the bunch because of the original lighting and the stride of lavish. It wasn't until I got home and uploaded everything that I realized the picture was going to look very strange with the rider cut off. Live and learn :) Glad everyone's enjoying it anyway~
Great picture, agree with the cramping at the top of the photo, but its ok because the most of the viewer attention goes towards tho horse. I think both the shot and the edits are great 10/10
I would have to say I love the effect you used on this photo! It's so soft and warm and really quite charming. I love horses. And Lavish is a really cool name for a horse too! =)
