My grandfather built this donkey barn for Pedro, a family pet in 1966. He built the foot-bridge several years later as an alternative to planks for getting across the stream from the house.

Nice rustic scene Josh. Is this in Florida?

The work of art may have a moral effect, but to demand moral purpose from an artist is to make him ruin his work. (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - 1832)

Thanks Tom, nope this one's in Connecticut. Same grandparents whose backyard in Florida I have posted images from, but this is the house where my dad grew up. They live here only in the summer now.

Good rich color here Josh. This looks like some place I wouldn't mine being, especially in the summer. Green grass, looks very cool. Good job & thank you for the story behind it!

Excellent composition and light Josh. No biggy...but I think your finger made it in the capture. Nice capture:-)

Thank you for the kind words all :). Darryl, fortunately my 10x zoom lens saves me from ever having a finger in the shot but if I did you can bet that puppy would be cloned out :). That is actually just a stone at the edge of the stream in the bottom of the frame. I even considered cloning that stone out anyway, but I decided I liked the shot better untouched since I don't really think it detracts. I'm glad everyone is enjoying this view from my grandparents' beautiful backyard!

***UPDATE*** It seems I've made a liar out of myself. While that is definitely not my finger, there is also no stone there like I thought there was. I attempted to recreate the situation and discovered that must in fact be my knee since I was crouching on a large rock in the stream (what a knuckle head). What do you think, worth it to repost with that removed or perhaps I should move this to the personal->self gallery LOL :)

I enjoy the red and the green. Although it's been said, you got some rich colors there.

It frightens me a little that a donkey has a lovlier home than I - what a lucky Pedro. I love the garden touch - was that also your grandfather? or did you grandmother have a hand in that? I agree with all the nice compliments above (color, comp, etc.). I sure am enjoying your gallery. :)
