Kythira, Greece, after a devastating fire this past summer, I was shocked by the devastation..one fourth of the island's forests were lost..and then on a mountain top, I took this photo ... nature's strength and beauty is revealed. Thanks for comments and advice.

So unusual and inspiring that these lovely little blooms have come up so soon after the fire. In a few years all the traces of the fire will vanish and nature will prevail.

Smooth seas do not make skilful sailors.
Thankfully a new life has started where so much life was taken.
Fires are horrible and so completely destructive. As are floods, and earthquakes, and typhoons, and hurricanes, and all other of Mother Natures natural disasters. So completely they take today's lives and yesterday's memories and erase them from tomorrow's recall.
I have pictures of my great-great-grandfather but know nothing of his life, his dreams, his very thoughts.
What does that little flower know of the tree that was there before it?

Roots, sand, pebbles and flowers show the devastation is on the road to recovery Vicki. Nature is truly great.
