When resting, the great egret usually strikes this pose, the pose it is best noted for "the s shape". Beautiful, isn't it?

Really like who the Egret stands out in contrast to the 'green' nature around it. Great job!

Wow! Interesting how their necks can bend like this! A perfect pose and capture! The deep greens really show off his bright white! Beautiful contrast and composition! :)Ami

It is a beautiful pose with the duck weed serving as the background Colleen. I believe you caught the essence of the Egret in this one. Surely they were put on earth for us to enjoy their beauty and an occasional snack for a gator. Hope that didn't ruin the mood.

Great shot.

I wonder how I missed this photo. What a perfect pose! It's as tho this Egret knew you and had to make sure he posed just for you. The way you captured this on the branch is fantastic, and all the greenery surrounding this bird makes for a most perfect photo. I'd love to have been where you were, andjust sit and ponder on this time. Thank you again . Verena

"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called. ~A.A. Milne
