I love my home state of Louisiana and am so happy when I have a chance to go out on one of our many bayous and photograph the wildlife and native flowers. This is my photo buddy, Scott, who is always nice enough to push-pole his flatboat for me to get into the shallow water to get photos of the American lotus which grows in acres of waterfields. There is a line in one of our songs "Jambalaya" that says "gotta go pole my pirogue down the bayou" and fits this photo so well.

I like the lighting, & wonderful weather here, while your friend Scott makes for a good people / action shot.

I always liked this Hank Williams song. Good shot and Scott looks like he is enjoying his day. Nice shot.

A fine capture, Coleen. It sure is nice of Scott to chauffeur you up and down the Bayou in his flatboat. I have to hitch a ride on the back of a Gator.

Oh I know that song well! When I lived down there, as I was married to a Cajun for a long time, they used to love singing that song, along with all the other fun ones! This is such a sweet photo! I really miss that place. I lived there for 14 years!! Verena
