My "Golden Gate" doesn't seem to be going over very well. So, I started with the same basic shapes in this image and went a different direction. This took quite a while to develop. Hope you like. Comments always welcome!
hehe, well, I had to pull out the dictionary for this one...shall I tell the meaning of that word or let the others work for it...oh, what others, hehe...great interpretation, Wendy...one that makes you think.:Pat.
LOL! I put this one up on another art website as well, Pat, along with a definition. Decided to leave things more vague for my Caedes friends. It's good to think. <G> (Thanks for your comments) Wen
Let's hear it for Merriam Webster Online !! As for your image, it's stunning ! Love how your shapes seem to be floating above a.) water or b.) hammered metal. Leaving it open to the viewer's interpertation as always. Really outstanding 3D, that vibrant gold is very attractive too. So, just out of curiousity, would your computer self destruct if it ever produced anything mediocre ??
I'm loving the gold! Sort of reminds me of something I've seen (a painting) of somewhere in Greek...from the way back in the past time....I'm still not sure what the painting was of but I do like this. 10 for sure!
Great image Wen! Gotta love the cubed orbs, the textured glass floor, and that golden glow..Awesome!!! By the way, I now know what solipsism means, very cool use of this word, very clever! ;)
Wendy,
This is a fascinating image. Love the title...an age old dilemma, but I no longer ponder it because I know U R there. I really like it.
That said, you can improve it quite a bit by perhaps rounding some of the really square edges or at least beveling them. This will give you much more interesting reflections and add a better sense if reality...plus you need to apply UVW texture coordinates with surface projection...That's why your textures are streteched to look kind of strange. What you want is to apply the pixels as if they were projected on each individual surface, not on one surface and stretched into lines along the surfaces at 90 degrees to that surface, which is what you have here. Good luck. If you have questions, PM me.

I didn't see your earlier endeavor but I like this one very much. Colors are warm and inviting and the subject you chose made me want to take a closer look at your work. 10
Yikes!!! Me likey Wen! You know how I like images inside of images and this one has LOTS OF IMAGES! Very cool stuff...But now I have to go learn a new word, damn ya. ok got it, man I'm quick...Great Wen, now I'm all bummed out, I thought you were really a person : )
Solipsism (from the Latin ipse = "self" and solus = "alone") is the epistemological belief that one's self is the only thing that can be known with certainty and verified (sometimes called egoism). Solipsism is also commonly understood to encompass the metaphysical belief that only one's self exists, and that "existence" just means being a part of one's own mental states — all objects, people, etc, that one experiences are merely parts of one's own mind. Solipsism is first recorded with the presocratic sophist Gorgias (c. 483-375 BC) who is quoted by Sextus Empiricus as having stated:
Nothing exists
Even if something exists, nothing can be known about it, and
Even if something could be known about it, knowledge about it can't be communicated to others... To damn deep for a Holiday...
