This image has some very strong elements to it, both cold and heat are represented in a manner that reminds us the all that what one thinks should be warm isn't always so. The subjects are well lit, which remind the viewer that they are definitely the main subjects. The sun, while bright, adds balance and interest. Plus reminding us that, although cold, spring will come again.
I like it very much, Cudos on a job well done. It really took a good eye and imagination to see the image.
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.

This image is definatly a winner. I love the contrast of colours, the almost white of the sun bouncing off the blue of the snow. Thats my kind of winter wonderland. Well done on such an imaginative and beautifuly shot
But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile.
Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.
Agree this puts the awe into awesome. Like how the sun has snuck in to light this small area and the backlighting on the area is perfect. Good catch Tommy:-)
It was always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May that be truly said of us, and all of us! And so, as Tiny Tim observed, "God Bless Us, Every One!

Hi Tommy, my, oh my!! How beautiful this is! Remarkably enlightening. The title fits so well. Makes one think of many things, doesn't it? Sincerely, Marilyn
This is different. I get the feeling like the foreground branches sticking up as they are with the light shining so directly at and on them are marking a special spot of some sort.
Beautiful and unique; I love how the small branches in the foreground are illuminated with the sun's light. I agree with the other comments- the sun does seem to inspire hope and promises that warmth and spring time will come again.
Very unusual image- I like the lighting very much- except for the sun. It seems like you added in the flare- as the sky doesn't appear that bright, nor the surrounding woods. If it was more realistic I think I would like it alot more. But then- real photos can be more strange than edited ones- so I could be wrong. wouldn't be the first time. ;)
I think I'm loosing it. I would have sworn I saw the branches move gently in a breeze. Great composition. Congrats on being in the right place at the right time and making this capture.
I like the title. It fits.
What a wonderful shot. To catch the sun shining on such a small area of such a shady area. The snow covered branches, in the foreground, look pretty lit up. I love these winter images...thanks
I've seen this photo for the first time, and it's just awesome.
The coldness of the snow, being 'heated' by that sun. Amazing feel to the two elements. But what I love most of all is the simplicity of the snow on the branches. So gorgeous. Patterns in nature abound, if we just 'see' them!!
