That is a gorgeous park. The pics I took when I was there didn't even begin to reflect how red the rock really is...such a beautiful spot!! Your high-res pic is just absolutely stunning. Very excellent job!
i dont know why, you're previous pics of this spot dont look like it, but this spot really looks like CG. i dont know if its the light, or the fact that its super sharp, and sort of surreal, and the clouds or what. i dont think calling something CG like is a compliment, but i think that about this pic, even tho it looks really good
I think it's that it is so 3 dimensional. The folds of hard rock carpeted by the soft sweep of land and a perfect sky. I love the tree growing in that unlikely spot on the left. Foreground shade from more of these on the right? Beautiful capture.
I'm really into goth rock and new wave. My favorite band is The Birthday Massacre. The guy in my avatar is, in fact, a guy. His name is Mana from the band Malice Mizer.
Rock on! this was a tree't ! (in fact, many of them... ) You really got me lusting after my SLR deep zoom, 20meg pixel, rotating lens digital camera with the automatic coffee maker attachment... Finally! I know the true meaning of *10* ...
But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile.
Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.
Thanks everyone :D
ppigeon: I took it right when the sun started to dip behind Pikes Peak (14,110ft). A few minutes later the light faded all but away.
Looks like a fractal on the thumbnail, but obviously it is not. I like how the vertical on the left anchors the shot and the rock forms repeat as they move across the frame and into the background. Getting as close as possible really worked. You captured the light at a perfect time as well.
I'm very picky I have never given a 10/10 until now. I have several pictures of the Garden of the Gods on my desktop program, but everything from the composition to the lighting are so well done. Bravo.
You managed to capture a different look than any I have seen before of the Garden Of The Gods. The rocks are a different color. A perfectly focused photo from top to bottom and side to side. Rich in detail and erfect balance.
