I was going to submit this as a regular waterscape photo.. but the grain was exceptionally high in the dark/mid range green areas... so I decided to "BuZZ" it in photoshop to give a more smooth/painting feeling. Let me know what you think :) Photo taken on my way to Lake Isabelle in Indian Peaks Wilderness, CO - July 2004.

I find it hard to believe you capture a grainy photo, but I will take your word;-) I think you have done a great job of turning it into art. Must be seen full size to appreciate the quality. Beautiful Mike.

I'm really into goth rock and new wave. My favorite band is The Birthday Massacre. The guy in my avatar is, in fact, a guy. His name is Mana from the band Malice Mizer.

What do I think? 10+ Your work to turn it into something other than a straight photo resulted in a beautiful piece. I especially like the softness of the grasses at water's edge.

I didn't know you could paint! Well done as always, especially the robust palette and affective backlight. MUST BE SEEN @ FULL RESOLUTION

I wish this "art" was hanging on wall so I could look at it everyday! Another beauty Michael. I like the way you did the green & blue. The softness that you did really makes this imge outstanding. Thank you :))

Nice editing, Mike. If I can do a little critic: the blue on the mountains, on the rocks and in the water is a little too much saturated, I think :-)

It works extremely well as a fine watercolor. Gotta disagree with Pierre...I've hiked the Indian Peaks, and on a sunny, clear day the colors can be very saturated due to the altitude. Blues are enhanced up high. Even the greens look ok, especially with a low sun angle, which is what you have. Your colors more or less fit the memories of my last trip out there.

Heh, I really like this picture. It sorta reminds me of the paint by numbers or Bob Ross type deal. Makes a great desktop :) GJ

Normally I don't like this kind of manipulation so much, but I think I have to adjust my opinion... It looks just great, I like especially that you captured all the small details with the trees.

Mike,
Just the right amount of rework on this image, I enjoy this image very much. It givs a sense of well being and peaceful solititude. It is the "stuff" that we go to the mountains to find, 10 is my vote.

i agree, i'd tone down the blue on the rocks in the water, however the rest is great, and this effect works really well, which filters were used to get this?

I think this photograph is simply beautiful and you must have used a digital camera. I liked it so much that I used it for background on my computer.

Thanks so much for the photo

I just discovered this wonderful picture on the front page. It's quite an impressive image. Beautiful colors and nice definition. A refreshing, invigorating nature shot. The c-i is silly.

Just now going through your gallery. Fantastic. I don't have PhotoShop, so I add a watercolor effect to the pictures that I think look bad, which is most of them. This one of yours is really cool. Good job.
