Delicate Arch is a 52-foot (16 m) tall freestanding natural arch located in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah. It is the most widely-recognized landmark in Arches National Park and is depicted on Utah license plates. Nearly died of Heat Exhaustion trying to reach this beauty. It was 115 degrees F and no cover up the steep rock. Our water appeared to have been boiled. I recovered quickly once I could see this magnificent formation.

What a terrific shot of Delicate Arch one of my favorite's and most photographed in Arches NP. Yeah it can get really hot there in the summer with the sun baking the bare rocks and not much shade...it must have been rough. I was there in late September the tourists were gone and it was cooler and spend a few nights tent camping and exploring all the different arches.....magnificent photo Vanda

I think you and Diane (macaribe) are world travelers Vanda. It is amazing how many different places you have shared. All of them beautiful. Another iconic shot.

I'm always amazed at the way sculpted objects like this are created out of solid rock by seemingly random forces of nature. ...Ed
