It is a lovely bloom and it really zings against the green. However, you might want to look closer at the quality of the petals, so that next time you can represent a more-perfect (less stained/bruised) sample and bring the entire bloom into the frame. The muted lighting also leaves the image flat.
i like the pic.. just i dunno if it was me or it still has a bit blur that can be touched up by photoshop... other then that i like it.. try to get the entire bloom in it (top has a bit cut off)
The petals have already been mentioned. It is cropped at the top and the buds top and right are cut in half which make it feel like there should be more to the picture, so in that sense it is awkward, like half a scene. There is an area of white top right that is very distracting as well. The contrast and lighting are a little flat so it lacks depth, but that can be easily changed with any good photo editing software, including free ones if you need to. having said all that for a first post it is a very good attempt and you will no doubt learn lots form the people here very quickly.
