Hot air Balloons over volcanic terrain near Cappadocia, Anatolia, Turkey. This place is a known tourist attraction famous for hot air ballooning, hundreds of them, I just selected a corner of land with not much concentration of balloons. Shot from of course another hot air balloon. :-)

I was amazed that I found this wonderful image in the category 'lonely images'. Don't really understand why this image got no comments.
Thanks anyhow, Zubair, for sharing this post.
Regards, Cornelius.

I had the same reaction and was going to comment yesterday but life (and work - dang!) got in the way. Anyway, I agree that it's a terrific photo. The only difficulty I had with it was the haze. I know that it was probably early in the morning (a good time for ballooning - generally calm air) when haze is often still in the air from the night before. I pulled a copy and brought it up in Photoshop, CS4 and, with a few tweaks in levels, tone, and contrast, was able to reduce the haze by about 50% without taking anything away from the integrity of the shot. Either one is a great shot -- your original and the one I played with -- and does not belong in the "lonely images" file. A very nice capture of a colorful activity and an amazing landform. Ground-level views and satellite photos (however crisp they may be) never show the true character of geology like this the way an oblique view can do. Nice work.

I agree this should have more comments. Why? The view is spectacular and this countryside terrain is amazing!! Yes the haze does have an effect on the clarity and contrast but other wise a wonderful capture from way up "there". Thanks for sharing:)
