this is a crack in the road of an old highway in Centralia. they shut the road down and built a new one beside it, but if you climb a dirt pile and take a walk, you can find this in the road. its about 5 foot deep at certain parts, and there is smoke rising up out of it continually. the town has been burning underground since the 80s and unless they pay millions of dollars to fix it, which they have tried, it will continue to burn and spread.
