picked this image up on a postcard while working in St Ives, Cornwall, took it back to Newquay and made a watercolour out of it.

Very beautiful Alan !! I really like the reflection on the water and the colors you've used here, it's so "serene" (only wish it was a bigger size)

I really like watercolours as a traditional medium.

And your choice of images was a great one, as it lends itself extremely well.

The end result, to my eyes, is a heightening of the feel and mood of your piece here taking both into consideration.

Wonderful colour choices that exude a setting sun atmosphere, and a good composition in addition.

My only caveat, if I may be so bold ... is I think your piece here is deserving of some better framing. Some of the elegance is lost in that translation.

Just a bit, mind you ... as it is a strong image.

Took a quick tour of your galleries and it is obvious that your sig is most befitting. A natural eye, and I do like your experimentations.

Hope to get back soon to your works, and pay them their proper dues.

Nice work. And of course, thank you for sharing.

EDIT: Just had a thought ... and it is this ... a moonlit alternative? Perhaps, a companion piece for this one here?

I think the colours would be complimentary ... and I did have the impression on first glance what with the purples and silhouette of the boat present, of a later hour in the day.
