This is THE MOST ORIGINAL flower photo that I've ever seen. I don't know how you did it but the flowers just POP off the photo! Suggestions for improvement? I can't think of any. I love the way the flowers, leaves and the "stems" are in focus and the background, which isn't that far back, is just slightly out of focus.
And what an unusual flower????

Very surreal looking almost sci-fi in nature, I love it!

How come I don't have a vote option for this picture? :(

Beautiful shot Al. Nice focus control. Are they Ironbark flowers?

Agree with all above comments...they DO pop out at you and DO have a sci-fi look...I am also curious as to what they are. : Pat.

Don't know how I missed this one! Wonderful unique blossoms! It looks very similar to a mimosa, but the leaves are different. Great shot, Al! :)

I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings: And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill. That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes. We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not. Yet so the universe was wrought . Thought is another name for fate. Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.

Wow another 10. I have been away to long. Looking at the rest of your gallery is a lot of fun.

This is quite an eye catcher. it showed up on the front page. Gfreat detail and focus. I have never seen anything like these. Doesn't look like anyone, so far, has been able to identify them. None the less, it is a keeper. Well done.
