Wonderful clear shot with great composition Al. I could use a bit of this in our cold environment about now. Nice dark area on the left for my icons too...good capture:-)
But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile.
Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.
These are gorgeous. I'm from Connecticut so I don't know much about "Exotic" flowers..well, this might not even be exotic, I wouldn't know. I just know that we don't have them in Connecticut, and these are just beautiful. They're so perfect they look fake. Fantastic shot, I love the shadow and light.
There's an emptiness inside her and she'd do anything to fill it in. Though it's red blood bleeding from her now, it's more like cold blue ice in her heart. She feels like kicking out all the windows and setting fire to this life. She could change everything about her using colors bold and bright, but all the colors mix together...to grey. ~*DaveMatthewsBand*~
Very well done Mate! I really like the soft lighting and the low contrast of the flowers laid on a nice dense background. I do find the patch of bright lighr in the upper left corner a bit distracting. If you could eliminate that spot it would keep the viewer's eyes from wandering off of the subject to have a look up there to see what is happening
These flowers are so delicate and beautiful. They look like they might be made out of porcelain. The title is so appropriate too but sometimes pure and simple is best and in this case i think the defination of that phase is perfectly portrayed.
Al, this is spectacular. I can't wait till spring to get out there with my improved skills on the macro, lol.
LOL on Darryl's comment, nice try, he is in Canada too, but we hit a low today of -38 windchill factor. Now that is cold.

I hope my bouquet of fragipani blossoms is in the mail Al! What a beautiful flower and a more beautiful capture. You have brought simplicity with elegance to my desktop! Thanks you :)...
P.S. I don't think they would do well in the snow that is covering the ground right now or the 10 degree temperature....Brrrrr......
The title fits the picture. I love how the shot is clear, but the petals still look so soft and pretty. The colors are very calm and soothing; I like how the pale flowers contrast against the dark background.
Great shot, Al! I really like how you have preserved the distinction between the dark areas and the well-lit flowers, with nothing in the middle range. Very effective to draw the eye to the subject, while maintaining a little interest elsewhere as well. Thanks as well for noticing 'cotton trees?' Much appreciated. Cheers. - Dave
For long you live and high you fly, And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry, And all you touch and all you see Is all your life will ever be....

Homer's expression mirrored mine when I saw how georgeous these were. And so....calm an environment. The picture itself is set with perfection. I love it.
